KERRY ANNE NELSON
Why did you start Our Place Melbourne?
Our Place Melbourne came about when the speaker, event organiser and small business process consultant Kerry Anne Nelson and her partner Rodney Turner wanted to establish a space for their own work. For over twenty years Kerry Anne had built businesses in service & retail fields, across several traditional bricks and mortar settings, as well as various online spaces. She had always loved managing teams, resources, and projects towards strategic, long term growth. She takes pride in driving excellent results for herself and her clients. She is a creative visionary who devises insightful strategies which map the most effective pathway to future business growth.
In August 2015 Kerry Anne decided to translate her previous career experience to the field of business process refinement. With her presentation polished, her business process services in place, and her first book published, Kerry Anne specifically wanted a stylish space to host her own talks, business presentations, classes, workshops, client meetings and networking events.
With her eyes on the prize of her deepest passion, Kerry Anne started sharing the idea with others in her circle. She soon realised that she wasn’t the only one who needed a venue that would enhance their brand message without straining the budget. Business owners, trainers, coaches, facilitators, event organisers and management staff all responded with enthusiasm. Here was someone brave enough to venture out into a new niche. With the rest of the world looking for bigger, better, more, Kerry Anne saw the need for something smaller and more suited to a different crowd. So she set out to establish a top notch venue that would meet the requirements of the leader who needed a more boutique, intimate place to meet and share.
Our Place Melbourne has taken all of us here away from the cafes, libraries and community halls we were previously using and provides us with all the functionality and style of a five star venue. In what felt like a blink, Kerry Anne has joined with her partner Rod to set up a business venue to serve their community.
